MeVu

MeVu is a website that tries to collect all your internet presence in one place.

Here is my example on the the site.

Next time, when you send your email signature, just send your MeVu link.

Preview of Internet Contents

Try to do a search of for example Toastmasters on Google and what you see? Lots of links.

Until recently you need to click the link and find out what's behind it. Now you do not have to do that if you install Snap Shots on your browser. They have different programs for MS Explorer and Firefox. The download and install takes seconds.

Having installed the add on, you will see a Snap Shots symbol next to the link, put your cursor next to it and you can see a preview of the link.

Another way to share photos

There are many sites that let you share your photos, each has plus and minus. It all depends on what you'd like to show and share.

I like slide.com, it displays your photo as slides of movies.

An example is below.

Happy Viewing!

Do something different

To enjoy life's adventure, I try to get out of my comfort zone.

First I joined Kirkland Eclectics, a great Toastmasters speaking club.

Then I sign up for a Humorous Speech contest, achieved first place in my Club, my area and participated in my division.

You can see my Area Speech here.

Enjoy!

How to convert to PDF

Do you want to convert a Word, Spreadsheet or even a Web page to PDF?

If you do not have Adobe Professional, there are 2 alternative methods to do this:

1. Via an application at Google
First you need to have a Google account e.g. you have Google Gmail account. Then you use iGoogle.com and add the PDF converter. To convert the document, you upload it and hit Convert, the application will email you back the PDF version of your document.

2. Using PDFCreator
You go to PDF Forge and download their PDFCreator program. After you install it on your computer, you will have a new printer called PDFCreator. Anything you can print using a normal printer, you can send to PDFCreator. It will convert your document (including Web pages) to PDF and you can either email it or save it as a file.

This application works well most time. Only one time when I tried to convert a very long Web page to PDF, it converted only the first few pages.

My vote is with PDFCreator, I think they did an excellent job.

How to retrieve your documents and files anywhere

How do you retrieve a document if you do not have your laptop/PC or a memory sticker with you?

In the past, what I had done is to email myself the document as an attachement to an Internet mail such as Yahoo or Gmail. All I need to do is to log on to my mail account, find the mail and open the document.

Another way to do it is to use Google Documents services. You can upload documents there and download them later. You can for example upload a MS Word document and open it using Google Docs.

Summary: if you have an Internet access and a Google account, this is another way to store and retrieve your document.

The service is free at the time I write this article.
